McGillXR is a student-led organization that educates, innovates, and leads in extended reality (XR) technologies, including augmented, virtual, and mixed reality (AR, VR, and MR respectively).

Scientific Exploration and Education
Participants in this track are invited to develop immersive tools that advance scientific understanding and communication. Projects might include interactive simulations for complex biological processes, VR experiences for public engagement with scientific research, or platforms for virtual learning. These innovations will make science more accessible, engaging, and impactful for diverse audiences.
Pediatric Healthcare and Well-being
Pediatric Healthcare and Well-being
This track challenges participants to design XR solutions that enhance the health and well-being of children. Projects might focus on creating immersive therapies for pain management, playful environments that support mental health, or educational tools for children and their families to understand medical conditions and treatments. The goal is to leverage technology to create a brighter, healthier future for young patients.
Rehabilitation and Societal Integration
Rehabilitation and Societal Integration
Participants in this category will use XR to address challenges in rehabilitation and promote inclusive societal integration. Projects could include gamified platforms to support physical therapy, VR tools to simulate real-world tasks for skill relearning, or immersive environments that foster social connection and mental well-being for individuals with disabilities. This track aims to help individuals with disabilities thrive in their communities.
Prizes
Prizes
Over $3000 in prizes will be available for competition across multiple challenges.
Prizes will be awarded to the top teams. In addition, sponsors may give out additional prizes.
